Weds 29th - Rosé's From Around the World
Summer is almost here and Rosé is the wine of choice for so many BBQ's, picnics and get-togethers, but what style of Rosé to choose? The traditional Provence style is very light in colour, dry and full of summer fruits, but colour is no guarantee of taste, especially with the deeper coloured Rosé's, so why not explore our selection of delicious Rosé's and dispel some of the myths for yourself - you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you discover!
JUNE
Tues 4th - An Introduction to Burgundy with Louis Latour
Burgundy can be a bit mystery with quite a few sub-regions and different styles of wines, yet the only two grape varietals used are Chardonnay for whites and Pinot Noir for reds. The whites can be wonderfully crisp, fruity and fresh such as Chablis or buttery and oaky such as Meursault, with reds showing just as much difference in style, from light, fragrant and ethereal to mushroomy and earthy.
Louis Latour is one of the most established houses in Burgundy and this is a perfect introduction to some world-class wines, and we'll be doing a deeper-dive into whites and reds separately in the autumn.

Weds 12th - Chianti Classico & Super Tuscan's with Castellare di Castellina and Rocca di Frassinello
Chianti is arguably Tuscany's most famous wine export, made predominantly with the wonderfully deep cherry notes of Sangiovese grapes. At the top of the classification is Chianti Classico DOCG, but the region is also rightly renowned for its' 'Super Tuscan' wines, which are often made nearer the west coast in Maremma where they blend French varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to produce some of the most famous wines outside of Bordeaux.
Castellare di Castellina is a producer of excellent Chianti Classico's, whilst Rocca di Frassinello is a joint venture between Castellare and Chateau Lafite, guaranteeing wines of the highest quality from both.

Weds 19th - Piemonte: Barolo, Nebbiolo, Gavi di Gavi and Arneis with Marchesi di Barolo
Like many of the grand Italian winemakers, Marchesi di Barolo has a long and regal history, dating back to the early 1800's from the marriage of Juliette Colbert, the daughter of a French Noble to Carlo Tancredi Falletti, the Marquis of Barolo.
Marchesi di Barolo were the very first producer to use the name of their town, Barolo, as a means of identifying their Nebbiolo wine and the result is a region that is celebrated around the world.
Piemonte, in the north-west of Italy is also home to the equally famous white wine Gavi di Gavi and the lesser-known, but still utterly delicious Arneis.

JULY
Weds 3rd - Washington State (USA) with Chateau Ste. Michelle
Built on the 1912 estate owned by Seattle lumber baron Frederick Stimson, the winery’s roots date back to the Repeal of Prohibition and pre-date many of the better known Napa Valley wineries further down the west coast of America.
Combining Old World winemaking traditions with New World innovation, Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the few premium wineries in the world with two state-of-the-art wineries, one for white and one for red. We will be presenting a variety of their outstanding wines to give you an introduction to this wonderful wine region.
Weds 10th - Switzerland with Celliers de Vetroz (Valais)
Switzerland exports less than 1% of it's wine production and the Valais region - the highest and largest in Switzerland overlooking lake Geneva and the Italian Alps, produces around a third of the total.
Celliers de Vetroz produces some truly stunning Grand Cru wines, including the famously light, mineral Chasselas white wine, juicy and fragrant Pinot Noir and Gamay and exceptionally smooth and elegant blends using Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and indigenous Swiss varietals.
Weds 24th - Old World v New World
The debate over the quality and differing styles of Europe versus the likes of Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the New World has raged for decades and with the advances in winemaking techniques and changing climates around the world there will be no end to that anytime soon!
Our tasting will give you the chance to weigh-up the merits of both from some excellent producers and perhaps challenge and update some long-held beliefs as to which hemisphere produces the best wines.
