Welcome to Il Vino!
Here at Il Vino we have always had a very simple goal - to provide our valued customers with a selection of outstanding wines from around the world, and now you can enjoy our entire selection of wines from our retail section, along with a selection of delicious charcuterie, cheeses and other lite bites in our wine bar.
The wine bar has been created to provide an inviting and informal setting to enjoy wine with us any time of day, be it a glass with a quick bit of lunch, a cheeky one on the way home from work or shopping, or a relaxing and more intimate atmosphere in the evening.
To compliment the wines and champagnes we have a delicious selection of cheeses, charcuterie and vegetarian plates, as well as a variety of crostini, bruschetta or cicchetti for small bites.
We have 21 covers for table service, so reservations are recommended for the evenings - just give us a quick call on 020 8504 8799.

As many of our regular customers will know, we're huge fans of the versatility of Rosé as a wine that works wonderfully with all sorts of food pairings and occasions.

The 2023 vintage is generous and lively with notes of apricot, wild peach, complex pastry aromas and hints of the Garrigue.

Straw yellow in colour with greenish reflections. Fresh and smooth, with intense notes of peach and Sicilian citrus fruit characterised by a pleasant balance between salinity and minerality.

Enchanting aromas of citrus, pears and Golden Delicious apples, followed by a crisp, refreshing palate. Well-balanced, vibrant acidity, minerality, and a hint of almond, resulting in a elegant and expressive wine with a long and harmonious finish.

Fresh and aromatic on the nose, opening with notes of lemon, Granny Smith apples and chamomile. Trexiadura from Ribeiro (with a plash of Godello and Albarino) lends wonderful weight and texture on the palate, which is balanced by citrus acidity and impressive length.
2 x Davila O Rosal Albarino 2022
Typically fresh and saline with aromas of grapefruit, lemons, apples and oyster shells on the nose. Medium-bodied with a refreshing coastal minerality and beautifully textured.
2 x Conde Valdemar Rioja Blanco 2021
Straw yellow with greenish hues, clean and bright. Intense aromas of almond blossom, pineapple and peach, with delicate toasted hazelnut. On the palate it is creamy, complex and full-bodied with a wonderfully long finish. Both distinctive and delicious.

Concentrated appearance with garnet colour, red fruits and spices. Delicious and fleshy, the palate is structured with fine and silky tannins. Overall, this very drinkable and well-balanced wine lingers in a long aromatic finish.
2 x Chateau Le Cros Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2018
Dark red with purple edges. aromas of red fruits, pepper and spices on the nose. It is full and round in the mouth but with finesse and elegant tannins.
2 x Chateau Pichon Longueville Pauillac 2020
Aromas of chocolate covered cherries, crushed red currant and blackberry with notes of spices, leather, potpourri and bay leaves, as well as a hint of undergrowth. Sumptuously elegant, refreshing and medium-bodied with beautiful aromas of red fruit, very expressive and extremely fine and firm tannins, it has a long and fragrant finish.

2 x Villa Trasqua Trasgaia Toscana 2015
Deep ruby red with very light garnet hues. Aromas of sour cherry, blackcurrant, vanilla, liquorice and nutmeg notes with balsamic reminiscences of eucalyptus, toasted Arabica coffee and chocolate. The soft tannins are completely integrated with a long and harmonious finish.
2 x Peiragal Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2021
Luscious ruby red with aromas of cherry and raspberry with spicy and ethereal hints of violet and vanilla. The palate is beautifully balanced and harmonious, with understated, delicate tannins and a subtle oaky note on the finish.
2 x Colle Corviano Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2022
Wonderfully soft and full and with aromas of cherry and blackberry followed by hints of vanilla, accompanied by ripe dark fruits, and a touch of chocolate. The finish is long and elegantly framed by oak spices.

Produced from low-yielding, old vine Monastrell in Jumilla (plus a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah). On the nose black fruits, spice box with some balsamic, earthy characters. The palate is complex with more concentrated, rich and ripe black fruit flavours and warm spices, backed by fine tannins and great length.
2 x Murviedro Sericis Bobal 2020
Sericis is translated as 'silky' in Latin. Aromas of forest fruits together with notes of toffee and vanilla. The palate is complex and structured, with more blackberry and plum characters, smooth tannins, a touch of mocha and a long finish.
2 x Vina Ardanza Rioja Reserva 2017
Intense red colour with great aromatic intensity of cherry, redcurrant and plum followed by balsamic and spicy notes of pepper, liquorice, clove, vanilla, toasted caramel and nutmeg. Fresh and balanced, with fine and silky tannins and a wonderfully long finish.
Wine Tasting Events
If you've ever wanted to learn more about different styles of wine from the experts and discover new and exciting wines from around the world in a relaxing and informal way, come along to our series of wine tasting evenings.
We have arranged an ongoing series of midweek wine tasting events with some fantastic producers which take place at Il Vino on Wednesdays.
Below is the calendar of events for the next few months and we'll be adding more shortly, which we'll keep you fully informed about.
We'll introduce you to some outstanding wines from around the world, explaining about each one in a non-technical manner (but feel free to ask whatever questions you like!) and to accompany them we'll also be serving a selection of delicious meats, cheeses and breads.
Events start at 7.30pm and numbers for each event are limited to 24 people, but please feel free to invite friends and family. Weds 20th - Chianti & Tuscany (SOLD OUT)
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Chianti. (Not in our house anyway!) From the Poggiotondo Estate in the beautiful hills just west of Florence we have a wonderful selection of Superiore and Riserva Chianti DOCG wines, as well as beautifully aromatic white and rosé wines using Vermentino and Sangiovese.
Weds 27th - Spain (SOLD OUT)
A fabulous selection of white and reds wines from some outstanding producers across Spain, including Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Priorat, Rueda and Rias Baixas.
DECEMBER
Weds 4th - Dom Perignon, Krug & Ruinart (£100)
Arguably two of the most famous of all Les Grandes Marques Champagne houses, Krug and Dom Perignon represent the epitome of sophistication, style and timeless elegance.
There are very few establishments in the UK where Krug and Dom Perignon are served by the glass (both at £65+ each) and Matt Kowalczyk, Ruinart's UK Sommelier Challenge winner 2023 will join us again for the evening to present these stunning wines for what will be a very memorable evening.
